BBL Fraxel
At NSDL we offer BBL Fraxel, a powerful skin rejuvenation treatment that combines the advanced capabilities of BroadBand Light (BBL) with the Fraxel laser. This dual approach is ideal for patients looking to address a wide range of skin concerns including sun damage, pigmentation, and uneven skin texture, with minimal downtime. This tends to be a more intensive treatment than BBL Moxi.
Why have Laser treatments with a Dermatologist?
When it comes to laser treatments, the device is just a tool. What truly matters is the expertise of the team performing the treatment. A dermatologist combines advanced knowledge of skin histology with expert deployment of the laser technology to deliver superior results, ensuring safety and efficacy. Just like giving a high-quality tool to a master craftsman guarantees the best results, laser treatments performed under the guidance of dermatologists achieve more optimal outcomes. At NSDL, we thoroughly assess your skin, taking into account any underlying conditions, to create a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.
What is BBL Fraxel ?
BBL Fraxel combines two innovative technologies in one powerful treatment:
BBL (BroadBand Light): A light-based treatment that targets pigmentation, redness, and sun damage. BBL penetrates the outer layers of the skin to stimulate collagen production and improve skin clarity.
Fraxel 1927nm: resurfaces the skin removing sun damage, age spots, surface irregularities
Fraxel 1550nm: addresses deeper dermal concerns such as wrinkles, fine lines and scars.
Together, these technologies provide a comprehensive solution for skin rejuvenation, addressing both surface-level and deeper skin issues.
What can BBL Fraxel treat?
Fine lines and wrinkles
Uneven skin tone and texture
Enlarged pores
This treatment is suitable for all skin types and can be customised to address your specific concerns.
What to expect during treatment
Your treatment will begin with a thorough skin cleansing. A topical anaesthetic is applied for 60mins prior to treatment.
You may feel a warming sensation during the procedure as the BBL light energy and Fraxel laser energy are applied to your skin. The entire treatment takes approximately 30-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area and intensity.
Aftercare instructions
Proper aftercare is essential to achieving the best possible results. Here are your detailed aftercare steps:
Cleansing (AM/PM): Use a vinegar wash or a mild cleanser to gently clean the treated area twice daily.
Days 1-3: Apply a pea-sized amount of Stratacel (medical-grade dressing gel) to the treated area. Stratacel helps maintain a moist environment to support wound healing, minimize water loss, and protect the skin. This dressing gel has been shown to reduce redness by up to 50% during the healing process.
Day 4-10: Transition to Toleriane Sensitive Facial Moisturiser. Apply a 5c-sized amount of the moisturizer evenly over the treated area. This product contains calming and cooling ingredients like glycerine, ceramides, and B3 to soothe and hydrate the skin. Use this after cleansing to ensure the skin remains hydrated and comfortable.
Thermal Spring Water: Spray thermal spring water on your skin at any time to hydrate and provide additional comfort during the healing process.
Sun Avoidance: Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours after the procedure to protect your skin.
Sunscreen: Sunscreen should not be applied until after the peeling process is complete to avoid irritation on freshly resurfaced skin.
Follow-up: Patients are encouraged to send photos on Day 1, 3, and 6 after the procedure to monitor healing progress.
Follow Up
We like to see you a few days after your treatment for a LED treatment. We then will review you around 4 weeks after your treatment. The number of treatments required depends on your degree of damage and your underlying skin quality. Our team will assess this for you. Best results are obtained if you maintain them. We encourage our patients to establish an annual laser treatment plan.
