BBL Moxi
At NSDL, we offer BBL Moxi, a cutting-edge skin rejuvenation treatment that combines the power of BroadBand Light (BBL) with Moxi, a non-ablative laser designed to improve skin texture, tone, and overall quality. This dynamic duo is perfect for patients looking to refresh their skin with minimal downtime.
Why have Laser treatments with a Dermatologist?
When it comes to laser treatments, the device is only part of the equation. Just like a master craftsman uses tools to create their best work, dermatologists combine advanced knowledge of skin histology with expert use of laser technologies to deliver superior results which is key to achieving optimal results safely and effectively.
The device itself, such as the BBL Moxi laser, is merely a tool—it’s how it’s deployed that truly matters. A skilled dermatologist will thoroughly inspect your skin, ensuring there are no underlying complications, and will tailor the treatment to your skin’s unique needs.
What is BBL Moxi?
BBL Moxi combines two powerful technologies in one treatment:
BBL (BroadBand Light): A light-based treatment that targets pigmentation, redness, and sun damage. BBL stimulates the skin to regenerate by delivering light energy that penetrates the outer layers, boosting collagen production and improving skin clarity.
Moxi Laser: A non-ablative laser that resurfaces the skin and stimulates collagen production. It’s ideal for improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, and treating mild sun damage with minimal downtime.
Together, BBL Moxi addresses various skin concerns, providing a comprehensive solution for skin rejuvenation.
What can BBL Moxi treat?
BBL Moxi is effective for treating:
Fine lines and wrinkles
Uneven skin tone and texture
Enlarged pores
This treatment is safe for all skin types and can be customised to address your specific skin concerns.
How does BBL Moxi work?
BBL Moxi delivers two layers of rejuvenation:
BBL targets pigmentation and vascular concerns by delivering light energy to the deeper layers of the skin. It triggers the body’s natural healing process, resulting in clearer, more even skin tone.
Moxi uses fractionated laser energy to stimulate collagen production and gently resurface the skin. It promotes skin cell turnover, improving texture and reducing signs of aging with minimal recovery time.
What to expect during treatment
Your treatment will begin with a thorough cleansing of your skin. Topical Anaesthetic may be required for more intense treatments.
You may feel a warming sensation during the treatment as the BBL light energy is applied to your skin, followed by the Moxi laser. The procedure is generally well-tolerated and takes 30-60 minutes depending on the treatment area.
Recovery & Results
One of the key advantages of BBL Moxi is its minimal downtime or the downtime can be tailored to your desired outcome. Most patients experience mild redness and a slight warming sensation immediately after treatment, which typically subsides within a few hours.
Recovery: You may notice a mild sandpaper-like texture on your skin for 1-3 days as the skin heals. Make-up can be applied the next day, and normal activities can be resumed immediately.
Results: You’ll notice improvements in skin clarity, texture, and tone within a week, with full results developing over the next 3-4 weeks. For optimal results, we recommend a series of 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart.
Aftercare Instructions
Proper aftercare is crucial for achieving the best results with Moxi. Here are your aftercare instructions:
Cleansing (AM/PM): Use a vinegar wash or mild cleanser to clean the treated area twice daily.
Days 1-3: Apply a pea-sized amount of Stratacel (medical-grade dressing gel) to the treated area to keep it moist and protected. This gel can help reduce redness by up to 50%.
Day 4-10: Transition to Toleriane Sensitive Facial Moisturiser, applying a 5c-sized amount to the treated area after cleansing to keep the skin hydrated and comfortable.
Thermal Spring Water: Use thermal spring water spray to soothe and hydrate the skin at any time during recovery.
Sun Avoidance: Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 48 hours after the procedure.
Sunscreen: Sunscreen should not be applied until after peeling is complete to avoid irritation on the freshly treated skin.
Follow-up: Patients are encouraged to send photos on Day 1, 3, and 6 after treatment to monitor healing.
Follow up
We like to see you around day 4-5 for an LED treatment to help assist skin exfoliation. We also like to see you for follow up 4 weeks after your last treatment. Ongoing maintenance is essential to achieving lasting results. Your skin will continuously improve in time if you stick to a good annual laser plan.
